What are the Slam Skills in Path of Exile: Harvest?

In Path of Exile: Harvest, GGG has created a new category of skills called 'Slams'. The existing Skills which are now considered Slam skills are: Ground Slam, Vaal Ground Slam, Leap Slam, Ice Crash, Earthquake, Vaal Earthquake, Sunder, Ancestral Warchief, Tectonic Slam, Perforate, Doryani's Touch, and Consecrated Path. Here, we'll analyze what these new and reworked Path of Exile Slam skills are. We will also include a bit about how they work and interact with other skills.

Ground Slam

Ground Slam is a melee attack creating a wave that travels forwards and damages enemies with an increased chance to stun.

The character slams the ground in front of them with a Staff, Axe, Mace, or Sceptre, creating a wave that travels forward and damages enemies with an increased chance to stun. The wave deals more damage to closer enemies. Requires an Axe, Mace, Sceptre, Staff, or Unarmed.

Vaal Ground Slam

Vaal Ground Slam

Vaal Ground Slam is a Vaal melee attack that slams the ground with a mace or staff, creating a wave that travels in all directions, knocking enemies back and stunning them.

The character slams the ground in front of them with a Staff, Axe, Mace, or Sceptre, creating a wave that travels in all directions that damages and stuns enemies. The wave deals more damage to closer enemies. Requires an Axe, Mace, Sceptre, Staff, or Unarmed.

Leap Slam

Leap Slam is an attack skill that performs a leap to a target area, damaging and knocking back enemies landed on. It is guaranteed to stun enemies in a full life.

Jump into the air, damaging and knocking back enemies with your weapon where you land. Enemies you would land on are pushed out of the way. Requires an Axe, Mace, Sceptre, Sword, or Staff. Cannot be supported by Multistrike.

Ice Crash

Ice Crash

Ice Crash is an attack skill that strikes the ground, converting some of your physical damage to cold damage, and creating a wave of expanding icicles in an area around you. The damage is weaker further away from you. Ice Crash requires a sword, mace, ax or staff, but can also be used while unarmed.

Slam the ground, damaging enemies in an area around the impact in three stages. Enemies take slightly less damage on the second and third stages. Works with Swords, Maces, Sceptres, Axes, Staves, and Unarmed.

Earthquake

Earthshatter is a new level 12 Slam attack that works like an amped-up Sunder. The skill sends out five damaging fissures in all directions when triggered. When each fissure terminates, they stick around for a short time, with spikes protruding from the area. These spikes can explode when combined with a Slam or Warcry in their local area. And yes, you can buff the explosion range of the spikes as well as the base damage of the slam.

Earthshatter works best when combined with a Warcry that either weakens enemies or buffs damage. By alternating the Warcry and the main skill, you trigger tons of those spike explosions. The skill combo is also highly mobile when combined with something like Leap Slam.

Vaal Earthquake

Vaal Earthquake is a Vaal skill gem. The character strikes the ground, creating an aftershock that erupts to deal more damage in a bigger area. Only one aftershock can be active at a time. The user will also release a limited number of aftershocks while moving.

Sunder

Sunder is one of the often-used, but often-hated, skills in the game. With Path of Exile 3.11, GGG is paying much more attention to it. Sunder will be getting a slower attack speed but more powerful strikes. The resulting waves are more damaging and cover a much wider area, but move much slower. Spamming this attack out will be a lot less appealing. But don't worry, Multistrike still grants that effective increase in attacks.

The biggest change numerically is that leveling the Sunder gem will scale Area of Effect. The older versions scaled the radius of the Shockwaves.

Ancestral Warchief

Ancestral Warchief is a skill that creates a totem that will attack enemies with melee AoE slams while the character stands close to it. Being near it also increases the character's damage. Ancestral Warchief Ancestral Warchief has an attack speed multiplier of 90%.

Summons an Ancestor Totem which attacks enemies with a powerful slam while you're near it. Being near it grants you more melee damage.

Tectonic Slam

Tectonic Slam

Tectonic Slam receives upgraded visual effects as well as a tweak to its usage thanks to Path of Exile: Harvest. It now only removes one Endurance Charge every three uses, making the charges easier to maintain, and its AoE is also increased. As such, relying on this skill will have you investing in Area of Effect and Endurance Charge-generating capabilities.

Perforate

Perforate is getting a big change. The skill now adds flat physical damage and some more consistent secondary damage. The players running this support skill will notice a more consistent effect overall. Those wishing to buff the secondary effect should focus on AoE buffs and then increasing the number of spikes generated.

The interaction between Sand Stance and Blood Stance with the newly redone skill is being tweaked. Sand Stance grants more spikes at increasing levels, and even more if you switch Stances. Blood Stance will grant more Area of Effect.

Doryani's Touch

Doryani's Touch is a slam skill(from the Doryani's Fist unique item). Doryani's Fist grants level 20 Doryani's Touch. Doryani's Touch will be supported by any applicable support gems socketed into Doryani's Fist; it is not necessary to have the sockets be linked together.

Consecrated Path

Consecrated Path is an attack skill where the user strikes the ground to deal with physical damage converted to fire damage around the user and create consecrated ground. When targeting distant enemies, the user will teleport to the target.

Slams the ground at a targeted location. If an enemy is near where you target, you'll teleport to it from a short distance away, slam, and create an area of consecrated ground. Can't be supported by Multistrike, and requires a Sword, Axe, Mace, Sceptre, Staff, or Unarmed.
